Empire of the Damned - Holy Hell, What did I just read!!!!!!!!

I know I'm late to the party with only finishing the 2nd book in the series, but holy cow...was this amazing and ended on a huge WTF moment.. I know, I know the last book in the series is supposed to be crazy (I can't wait) to read it. 

Jay Kristoff does not disappoint with his world building and characters in this second book. Gabriel is still Ornery, in a lovable kind of way, and I personally don't hate the historian too much. I'm still on the fence about his Liathe sister, Seline, trying to decide still. 

The pacing, for the most part, was on point and kept me going without fatigue or boredom. The battle scenes were epic and the plot twists effectively dropped my jaw.  

Spoiler free rundown: Dior, the Grail, has been caught by the Dyvok Vampires and brought back to their "base". This book is about what she had to go through to survive until Gabriel, Phoebe, and Seline, along with a whole cast of characters can rescue her. 

This book is on point to be my top read of the year, so far...it is still early... and yes I have read Dungeon Crawler Carl, which is hilarious, but that's for another review ... and another personality of mine.
